Not quite spoilt for choice but there are several ways to make that individual item of jewellery.

The original or traditional method is to make the item completely from basic materials such as sheet metal and wire. This is very detailed and high quality but as it is a time consuming process often expensive. This can be diluted by using pre-made components and what are called findings to achieve less time involvement and an improved price. Not every poaaibility is available and this to a certain extent restricts the designs which can be made using pre-made components

Wax carving ia a method of producing the design in wax. Wax is cut, shaped and carved into the design and then cast into the chosen metal. Sometimes several waxes will be needed and the resulting castings assembled into the final design.

Cad Cam is the new high tech method of designing a three dimensional piece of jewellery on a computer screen and using the image to make a wax which is then cast. Sometimes several waxes will be needed and the resulting castings assembled into the final design

Each design merits its own approach but this choice of making allows most if not all designs to be made to a high standard, reasonably quickly and at an affordable price
